Sue Ryder Poetry is Dead Good

28 October, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Event wristband required

Poetry is Dead Good is Nottingham’s longest- running, city centre spoken word night, bringing some of the biggest names in UK spoken word right into the heart of Nottingham. In the past 4 and a half years they’ve had some superb and spellbinding headliners including Maria Ferguson, Dean Atta, Jasmine Gardosi, Ben Norris, Casey Bailey, Lydia Towsey and Mark Grist. For this year’s Hockley Hustle, they’ll be showcasing some of their favourite poets from Nottingham as well as giving a platform for emerging poets. There’ll also be an open mic at 4.30pm to try out new work and welcome new performers. At 1pm, there will be a workshop for people to hone their poetry skills in a fun and relaxed environment, suitable for all levels of experience.

The event will be headlined by an excerpt from local poet Leanne Moden’s debut one-woman show which is currently in development. This will be followed by a Q&A session with the enthusiastic poetry-lover, ‘That Welsh Woman’.
